Eero Ettala Interview

Eero Ettala is not the kind of snowboarder who takes the summer off, he skates all summer long! Last winter Eero Ettala was busy filming for hit "Cooking With Gas" webseries. He will be dropping an on-line video part sometime this fall, so watch out for that. I wanted to learn a little bit more about Eero so I asked him a few questions:
 
What is the biggest thing you have learned from your years riding for Nitro for so many years?
I have learned the value of being loyal and the way how to create long lasting relationships. 
 
What was your favorite trick you did in "Cooking with Gas"?
I would need to say it was the switch double back off the wallride, cause i had been thinking about that trick for some time and finally managed to pull it off. 
 
What is your favorite video part you´ve had?
I guess im most proud of my MDP´s Follow me around part. It was just an huge honor the get the closing part for that movie. 
 
What makes Finland better than the United States?
Friends and family. Overall vibes. 
 
Who were your inspirations growing up snowboarding?
All the legendary finns, Jussi Oksanen, Heikki Sorsa, Joni Makinen and i was actually also a huge Daniel Franck fan. 
 
What pushes you to keep progressing in snowboarding and skateboarding?
Just the thought about standing still and not learning anything new frightens me...need to learn new stuff to keep it interesting. 
 
How do you keep your body healthy for snowboarding and skating all year long?
Hahah, i don`t. I´ve had my fair share of injuries. I do try to keep myself in shape by going to the gym, swimming and biking. that seems to be helping a bit. 
 
What projects do you have going on right now and for the coming season?
i am currently just working on keeping my website up and running (www.ettala.com), and for next season, things are still up in the air. Hopefully be doing something similar to "Cooking with Gas".
 
What is your warm-up skate trick?
Blunt in a mini ramp usually gets me warmed up pretty quick. 
 
Are you stoked on your new promodel with Nitro?
Best looking board I have had so far!!!!
